ART 240 Digital Photography

This introduction to digital photography incorporates important aspects of traditional photography including cameral use, framing, depth of field, light, and design, with the essential basics inherent in the transfer from film to digital technology. Students will execute a series of projects designed to enhance visual awareness and develop conceptual problem solving through photography. Adobe Photoshop program will be used to edit, color correct and alter photos.

All work on this page is student work except the image to the left which is Gregory Crewdson.

Weekly Outline

Photo student work

Monday 11:25-2:30

It is suggested that students have a digital camera for successful completion of this course. However, cell phones can be used if no digital camera is available.

Please note: this is a college level art class. All assignments are designed to teach concepts, both visual and conceptual, related to photography. It is not a community education class so you will not be allowed to simply do "whatever you want." I hope this makes sense.

lab schedule

You are expected to work outside of class in the Mac Lab to complete assignments. Lab is open based on lab assistant schedule. It will be posted by the second week of the semester.
