Art 400 Global Art Today

Course Description: This course is designed specifically for Art Education students to provide additional instruction in contemporary artists throughout the world. The artists and their work will be analyzed for aesthetic and cultural relevance. Because many of these artists are working with ideas related to culture, identity, politics and/or other current issues, we also develop techniques to integrate their ideas and artwork into the art classroom. In addition to contemporary art, contemporary theories of art education will also be introduced.

Syllabus and Outline

The course by appointment means quite a bit of self-directed work on the part of the student.
